Prolog interpreter

SWI Prolog is freely available, conforms to the main Prolog standards nad has good documentation and online support. Most books on Prolog follow the SWI Prolog syntax so there shouldn’t be any confusion when using it with textbook examples or online resources.
The latest resource is available from http://www.swi-prolog.org/download/stable
N.B. The first binary option is for Windows 32bit and the 2nd option is for Windows 64bit. Mac options are also available.

Prolog Editor Self-installing executable for MS-Windows.
It installs:

  • swipl.exe and
  • swipl-win.exe.

It works on Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista/7.
There are also versions available for other platforms.

Prolog Editor

SWI-Prolog-Editor is the SWI-Prolog Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for Windows written by Gerhard Rohner. This is available to download the file from: http://lakk.bildung.hessen.de/netzwerk/faecher/informatik/swiprolog/indexe.html, unpack it and run setup.exe after you have installed SWI Prolog.

Finally, you will need to change the location of the SWI Prolog documentation in the SWI-Prolog-Editor configuration since it has been moved to a doc directory.
Select the menu item Window > Configuration, then the documentation tab, and change the Content path to be C:\Program Files\pl\doc\Manual\Contents.html
